"The most notable thing about the Evolution Platinum 550 is its space. Fishermen love it, especially in the work area, and this ‘little’ boat, a mere 5.5m in length, has loads of it. Mind you, that 5.5m is actual boat. Length overall, including the bowsprit and pod, is 6.1m.The Evolution is a new boat on the market, so it’s worth telling the story from the beginning. It’s been designed by well known Victorian boatie and fisherman Paul ‘Junga’ Junginger, who worked with Streaker Boats at Bayswater for 13 years.

But Junga had his own ideas regarding what makes a good boat and set about doing his own thing. He set up PM Marine, designed the 550, and now builds them at Bayswater.

The fit-up is done by PD Marine, at Dandenong. In designing the boat, Junga wanted a stable fishing platform that could still handle rough water. He went for a fairly fine entry, maximum width (2.49m), 21 degrees of deadrise, 120mm wide, heavily reversed chines, small planing plank, and two over-large planing strakes. The formula seems to work well, remembering that every boat’s hull design is a compromise between performance and stability." READ MORE

"There are fishing boats and then there are boats that you can fish out of. According to John Willis this cuddy makes one hell of a sports fishing outfit.

IT’S hard to get a boat that is fishing friendly, while having a level of comfort and versatility for when the whole family wants to do something different – together! The Evolution is one of the fishiest rigs I’ve ever seen and little wonder with its design and build pedigree; all involved in this package have been dedicated to the fishing and boating industry for many years, and it shows.

The Evolution at 5.5m is just right for the travelling fisho with a conventional six cylinder vehicle who wants a boat suitable or single-handed operation. Combine this with the inherent sea going ability to travel to distant offshore destinations or to comfortably navigate larger estuaries in short, The Evolution Revolution sharp choppy conditions and you have a truly desirable package.

Local Melbourne boys Paul Junginger (“Junga” to all whoknow him) and Andrew Pawsey have dedicated their time, finances and ingenuity to produce this package." READ MORE

"Take a glance at the many game and light-tackle tournaments conducted around this country and with the exception of a few, the majority of the participating boats arrive there on trailers. Very few have been manufactured specifically for gamefishing. This boat has.

The Evolution 650 Predator is only the second model out of the Victorian-based factory of PM Marine Manufacturing, but it comes with good credentials. Paul Junginger has been involved in the manufacture of fibreglass boats for 19 years, and prior to branching out on his own he was the manufacturing foreman at Streaker Boats another Victorian company synonymous with quality trailerable fibreglass vessels.

Initially PM Marine Manufacturing specialised in fibreglass boat accessories such as bait boards, seat boxes and livebait tanks. They use the vacuum moulding method, which results in exceptional quality and is most likely the future in this style of manufacture due to its eco-friendly nature."READ MORE
